| GPS Nevigation Best Innovation In Car |
| 09.05.08 (4:57 pm) [edit] |
|
The invention of the GPS navigation systems is not as new as most people believe;they have been around and used ever since the first GPS satellite was launched into space back in 1978. Global positioning satellites have many civilian and military applications, but one of the most pervasive in navigation.
There has been potential for years in automobile GPS navigation systems, and industry has tried various ways to implement them. In 1983, Honda introduced an automobile navigation system that was based primarily on an accelerometer, not on GPS. It wasn't until 1990 that an automobile GPS system was released to the public consumer by Pioneer. Automobile GPS Navigation systems had yet to really come into use until Magellan released its version in the US in 1995. Since then more portable GPS systems have been developed for greater ease of use for people.
Automobile GPS Navigation System Components
An automobile GPS Navigation System requires a GPS receiver and a map database. Some systems also have drive train sensors to supplement when GPS signals are blocked for brief periods.
The database map converts the GPS portable systems coordinates into map locations, such as street names and addresses. Some map databases contain GPS coordinates for specific locations, such as points of interest or rest stops. It's the information in the database, however, that directs you to your location, either visually or by voice. Which means your GPS navigation is only as good as your GPS car systems map database.
Commercial Applications
Many corporations and businesses use GPS navigation system within their vehicles to dispatch and track vehicles. In various cities throughout the US, taxis come equipped with a GPS navigation system. Dispatchers at the taxi company know where all the taxis are located at any given point in time, and can dispatch them more effectively than before.

| Nokia Tube, worthy competitor of iPhone |
| 08.19.08 (3:31 pm) [edit] |
|
Nokia already has thought to dethrone the iPhone and it is developing a new operating system Symbian S60 with tactile interface that will be implemented in the Nokia Tube.
So far little is known about this new phone, but in the network have already been running some videos, like the one we will present later. Nokia Tube makes an appearance in the Dark Knight. This car not only features a hard drive-based navigation system .
If we appreciate the images, note that the design is very, very similar to Apple's iPhone, it's more I daresay that is the same.
Some of the technical specifications that could be included in the Nokia Tube, for example we have, or 3G HSDPA connectivity and a GPS receiver, and will come with support for Java.
Of the few such specifications, the only thing really is confirmed that will support the new Nokia Tube Java, for mobile applications and games.

| Basics of GPS Navigation Systems |
| 07.30.08 (2:54 pm) [edit] |
Global Positioning System navigation tools are more commonly known as GPS units. The GPS acts as the new form of the old compass, except the GPS can do a whole lot more than point you north. Using satellites which have been specially sent into space, the GPS can tell you exactly what your position is on the planet. The clever little gadget can reveal your longitude, latitude and even altitude.
When navigating by airplane, automobile or ship, the technology behind the GPS has come to play a central role in modern day travel. Car navigation GPS units make it possible to find your way around complex areas by way of satellite positioning. A digital map on the unit's screen inside your car shows you the best possible route, often with voice prompts to accompany the visual aid. Motorcycle mounted GPS navigation has also become popular, especially for motorcycle touring. When it comes to seafaring and sports out at sea, GPS tracking devices can show themselves to be very handy indeed. With the aid of a GPS fish finder, fishing becomes a lot more rewarding.
The GPS technology has even been adopted by cycle tourists or long distance cyclists who wish to track their position and altitude as well as timing, speed and other data. Another popular use of GPS in in golf, where a special golf GPS allows golfers to tee off with a greater knowledge of what lies ahead on the course.
Scientific and geographic fields also benefit from using GPS. The precise information made available by a GPS locater means that cartographers and land surveyors have found an irreplaceable tool in the GPS. Earthquakes and other natural disasters such as cyclones and tsunamis can navigation now be monitored by GPS assisted methods, improving the accuracy and efficiency of those working to warn people of such events in time to prevent serious injuries or loss of life.
